Effect of Coronavirus on Aquaculture in Oyo state, Nigeria

Coronavirus 2019 is a global health concern that has left most countries in state of severe economic meltdown. Scientific research been down on the virus and its impact various sectors but Nigerian aquaculture industry missing. This paves way for this to aim at bridging gap by looking perception fish farmers influence coronavirus their activities, challenges they face during period virus, coping strategies adopted mitigate virus. The used cross sectional survey design with sample size being 11 living Oyo state, Nigeria. Homogeneous purposive sampling was primary data collected through use google form. analysis using SPSS version 25.0. result analysed showed that: socioeconomic characteristics; majority respondent reported had an effect fishing activity were mostly small scale catfish predominate farmed. perceived demand decline, high cost production, more expensive, reduction manpower farm due lockdown measures. Reduction walk-in customers revealed as major challenge posed pandemic, while inability get technical support least. On adopted, it have resorted development own feed.
